Chiropractors use a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine. As well as manual treatment, chiropractors are able to offer a package of care which includes advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises and lifestyle changes.

Chiropractic treatment involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Apart from manipulation, chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound, exercise and acupuncture as well as advice about posture and lifestyle.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy (including myotherapy) is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person's muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

Rob was born, raised and resides in Treorchy.

He graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2006 and has been mainly applying his knowledge and skills over the border in England, primarily Portsmouth and Nottingham.

After spending a decade over the border working in numerous, busy multi-disciplined clinics in Portsmouth and Nottingham, he decided it was about time he returned home to the Valleys.

In 2018, Dare Valley Chiropractic opened in Aberdare.

Rob has always been a huge fan of sport, primarily Rugby but in his younger years he did represent Wales in Basketball at under 18 level. He has been involved with Treorchy RFC ever since he picked up a rugby ball at 11 years old and was part of the medical team at the club for over 5 years.

He now mainly keeps fit and healthy through CrossFit, a high-intensity fitness programme incorporating elements from several sports such as Strength training, Cardiovascular fitness, Olympic Weight Lifting and Gymnastics.

During his 18 years as a Chiropractor, Rob has become a confident and capable Chiropractor. He is a very competent spinal manipulator and has also become proficient in using myofascial dry needling (medical acupuncture) techniques, soft tissue massage and muscle release methods during his treatments. He has a keen interest in sports related problems, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning.

She has a specific interest in sports injuries and athlete management, and currently works with a rugby team, supporting the players on and off field.

She has always enjoyed being active and I like to challenge myself by setting new goals and entering different events. I understand how the training process can take its toll on the body, and have first hand experience of how chiropractic care can aid an athletes performance and recovery. I love to see people achieving their goals and am always amazed by what the human body can do!

Meg studied at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council, British Chiropractic Association and Royal College of Chiropractors. I also hold a level 3 diploma in Sports Massage and Dry needling qualification.
